By using Name Ledger, you agree to these terms and our privacy, refund, affiliate-disclosure and disclaimer pages. The service
Name Ledger shows business-name and domain availability at the time of the check. Paid reports, monitoring and domain registration are available only when the relevant purchase option is shown as open. Results, rules, prices and availability can change. A search does not hold a name or domain and does not require ASIC or a registrar to approve an application.
Your responsibilities
- Give us correct and lawful information.
- Check the result time, important limits, domain rules and whether you need professional advice.
- Protect your account and tell us if you think someone has misused it.
- Do not use automated tools to copy or overload the service, bypass limits, test stolen data or interfere with how it works.
- Do not impersonate or mislead anyone, infringe another person's rights or register names in bad faith.
Paid reports
You will see the price and what is included before you pay. We start a paid report only after payment is confirmed. Every name in the report must pass the stated checks at its recorded check time, but it may not stay available. If we cannot provide the report you bought, we will follow our refund policy and Australian consumer law.
If you start an eligible Tech Builders website project priced at A$990 or more within 14 days of buying the report, we will apply one A$39 report credit to that project. The credit is applied manually, is limited to one per eligible project, is not transferable and has no cash value. This does not affect your consumer rights.
Extra search packs
An extra search pack adds three searches to the account used at checkout after payment is confirmed. It is a one-off purchase, not a subscription. Each search is used when a new live check begins. Reopening a recent cached result does not use another search.
Business-name registration
When this option is open, the displayed total includes the stated government fee and our service fee. We first authorise your card, then ask for the official holder and application details. The authorisation is not a completed charge. We complete the charge only after validating the details and confirming that the order can proceed. ASIC makes the final registration decision. You authorise us to lodge the application and handle the government payment for the selected term.
Domain registrations
A domain order depends on availability, payment, the domain rules, proof of identity and eligibility, the registration period and correct owner details. An available search result is not a completed registration. Your right to use the domain starts only when the registrar confirms it. Renewal, transfer, eligibility and dispute rules continue to apply afterwards.
Combined registration checkout
You may place an available business name and one or more domains in one basket. Each item remains subject to a final availability and eligibility check. If an item changes before lodgement, we will not replace it without your agreement. A temporary card authorisation may remain visible until your bank releases it even when we do not capture the payment.
Monitoring
New monitoring subscriptions start with a 30-day free trial, then renew for A$12 a month unless cancelled. Stripe collects a payment method when the trial starts. You can cancel before the trial ends to avoid the first monthly charge. An active monitoring plan covers up to five names. We aim to check them every 24 hours, but provider or service problems may cause delays. Monitoring does not hold a name or stop someone else from registering it between checks. You can pause or remove names, control email alerts and stop future renewals, subject to the checkout terms and your consumer rights.
Complimentary consultation
One 30-minute Tech Builders Business Digital Launch Consultation is included with an eligible completed business-name or domain registration. Request it within 30 days of the completed registration. It is subject to appointment availability, is not legal, accounting or financial advice, cannot be exchanged for cash and may be limited to one consultation per order.
Intellectual property
Laws protect the Name Ledger software, design, written content and reports. You may use a report you buy for your own business decision and share it with your advisers. Names and trade marks belonging to providers, government bodies, registries, customers and other parties remain their property.
Availability, changes, and suspension
We may maintain, change, limit or pause features for security, legal, provider, capacity or reliability reasons. We may suspend activity that misuses or threatens the service, customers or providers. Where practical, we will tell paid customers about an important change that negatively affects them.
Liability and mandatory rights
These terms do not remove any guarantee, right or remedy that the law says cannot be removed, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Subject to those rights, Name Ledger provides early-stage information, not legal, trade mark, accounting or financial advice. Availability information can change after it is checked, and customers remain responsible for confirming important facts before acting.
Governing law and contact
