Who runs Name Ledger?

What information do we collect?
- The names you search, when we checked them, the results and a coded visitor reference used to apply the free-search limit.
- Your email address if you ask us to email a search result, plus your separate choice about receiving business-launch tips, result reminders and occasional Name Ledger and Tech Builders offers.
- Your name, contact details, business stage, interests and preferred contact method if you request a Tech Builders consultation.
- Your account and contact details when account features are available.
- Your report instructions, chosen checks, purchases, payment references and report status.
- The names you choose to monitor, their check history, your subscription and alert choices.
- The owner and eligibility details needed to register a domain.
- Your support messages and technical details such as an approximate network address, browser information, security events and error logs.
Our secure payment service processes payments. We do not plan to store your full card details. Do not enter identity documents, card details, passwords, secret keys or sensitive personal information into the search or on-page help.
Website analytics help us understand page use and speed. If you arrive through a campaign link or advertisement, we may keep short campaign labels—such as the source, campaign name and landing page—and an advertising click identifier. We can link these to your purchase or consultation request to understand which promotion brought you to us. We do not intentionally include searched names, proposed domains, support questions or provider results in analytics or campaign labels.
We use Google Ads conversion tracking to measure purchases and successfully submitted consultation requests. For an enquiry, our event sends a random reference to avoid counting the same saved request twice. It does not send your name, email, phone number, message or an assumed sale value. The Google tag may use cookies and technical information to connect the event with an advertisement. This measurement is separate from marketing emails: requesting a consultation gives us permission to respond to your request, not to add you to a marketing list.
Why do we use it?
The free email-signature builder processes the details you type in your browser. We do not send those signature fields to our server or add them to analytics. We measure signature exports and clicks to website options using the selected layout and export method—not your contact details or signature content. Copying or downloading a signature does not create an account or subscribe you to marketing. If you separately submit a template-website enquiry or free-domain expression of interest, we save the contact details and selections in that form so Tech Builders can respond. A free-domain expression of interest is not registration approval.
We use your information to run and protect searches, email a result when you ask us to, prepare reports, monitor names you choose, manage accounts, handle payments and refunds, register names and domains when you ask us to, arrange consultations, answer requests, prevent misuse, meet legal duties and improve reliability.
Asking us to email a result does not automatically add you to marketing. The optional consent box starts unticked. If you choose it, we may send a short day 1, day 3 and day 7 launch-help series and occasional relevant Name Ledger or Tech Builders offers. Each message includes a direct way to unsubscribe. We record the consent wording, time, source and version so we can honour and demonstrate your choice.
Who may handle your information?
Depending on the feature you use, specialist companies that provide hosting, databases, sign-in, payments, support, analytics, email, business-name data and domain registration may handle some information for us. Some may process or store information outside Australia, including in the United States. Contact us if you would like the current list of service providers relevant to your information.
How long do we keep it, and how do we protect it?
We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed to provide the service, keep required business and tax records, meet legal duties, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and maintain proportionate backups. Search-result email records are kept only while needed to deliver the requested email, any messages you chose, manage unsubscribes and demonstrate consent. Consultation requests are kept while we respond and manage any resulting business relationship. Encrypted domain-owner details are removed from cancelled and expired unpaid orders; paid-order records are retained only for service, legal, tax, dispute and fraud-prevention needs. We delete or de-identify other information when it is no longer reasonably needed, unless the law permits or requires us to keep it. The free-search limit uses a coded reference and does not need a customer account. We use access controls, encryption, separated secret keys, input limits, provider timeouts and security records. No online service can promise complete security.
Your choices and complaints
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it where the law allows, or make a complaint. Email support@techbuilders.com.au. We may need to confirm your identity before we share or change account information. If you are not satisfied with our response and the Privacy Act applies, you may be able to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Updates
We will update this policy when our providers, features, practices or legal duties change. The latest review date appears at the top. We will tell existing customers about important changes through a suitable channel.
